Tijdens het symposium De Nieuwe Draad ontdek je in één dag hoe breed en toekomstgericht textielinnovatie is. Het programma combineert lezingen, interactieve momenten en ontmoetingen met makers en onderzoekers.

De dag start om 9.30 uur met inloop en koffie, waarbij bezoekers direct prototypes en materialen kunnen bekijken tijdens een look & feel-moment. Om 10.00 uur opent dagvoorzitter Hellen van Rees het symposium.

In de ochtend delen onder andere Liset Pander (Spinning Jenny) en Annemieke Koster (Enschede Textielstad) hun visie op vakmanschap en innovatie in textiel. Astrid Hage laat zien hoe biotechnologie nieuwe mogelijkheden biedt voor textielproductie, en Pascal Betten (Socklab) vertelt over de ontwikkeling van biodegradable sokken. De ochtendsessie wordt afgesloten met een panelgesprek.

Tijdens de interactieve lunch is er ruimte om prototypes van dichtbij te bekijken en in gesprek te gaan met sprekers en andere deelnemers.

In de middag gaat het programma verder met presentaties van Ali Sadeghi (University of Twente, Soft Robotics Lab) over 3D-geprinte toepassingen, Laura Erkens (Saxion, project Masque) en Pramod Agrawal (Saxion, project Re-mat) over innovatieve onderzoeksprojecten. De dag eindigt met een tweede panelgesprek.

Vanaf 16.00 uur sluiten we af met een informele borrel en een laatste look & feel-moment.

During De Nieuwe Draad you will explore the broad and future-oriented landscape of textile innovation in a single day. The programme combines talks, interactive moments and opportunities to meet makers and researchers.

The day starts at 9:30 AM with coffee, where visitors can immediately explore prototypes and materials during a hands-on look & feel session. At 10:00 AM, the symposium officially opens with host Hellen van Rees.

In the morning, speakers including Liset Pander (Spinning Jenny) and Annemieke Koster (Enschede Textielstad) share their perspectives on craftsmanship and innovation in textiles. Astrid Hage presents new possibilities in textile production through biotechnology, and Pascal Betten (Socklab) discusses the development of biodegradable socks. The morning concludes with a panel discussion.

During the interactive lunch, participants can view prototypes up close and connect with speakers and fellow attendees.

The afternoon programme features presentations by Ali Sadeghi (University of Twente, Soft Robotics Lab) on 3D-printed applications, Laura Erkens (Saxion, Masque project) and Pramod Agrawal (Saxion, Re-mat project) on innovative research projects. A second panel discussion concludes the formal programme.

From 4:00 PM, the day ends with an informal networking reception and a final look & feel session.
